Today was the greatest day of the year, HALLOWEEN! Mar went as '60's Cher and Grace went as evil Gretel, from Hansel and Gretel. It was a lot of fun, so we figured we'd show off our costumes.
Skipper also dressed up, going as a crazed gorilla.
Betsey's costume was the scariest, mixing the style of the '80's with zombie make-up.
But by the far, the shining star of the day was Gretel's little gingerbread man, all eaten up and gloomy.

New, What? This Is Old School.
Mar here. I recall hearing Mark from the cobrasnake once talk about New Rave and how everything was coming back. And with Mark's "New Rave" came a look he stamped as LA style. I'm talking neon colours! Well, this jacket, which I just HAD to try on (but thankfully not buy) from Sally Anne reminded me of this Mark Hunter interview. Except, this would be "Cory Kennedy comes to Canada" or "Cory Kennedy on skis." Haha, random, but made me laugh nonetheless. Enjoy.

Ugly Is Beautiful
Mar here. I've realized that the term vintage has changed drastically within the last few years, and the '80's are now being lumped into the category. And, like any decade, along comes the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, I'm not one to turn down something labeled ugly and have started buying giant horrid sweaters. Watch out for me, because I'm on the lookout for huge prints, a baggy length, and maybe a winged sleeve or embellishment here or there. Haha, just listening to me write about these things makes me laugh to myself. I remember when my grandma had these! Note to self: I must rade her closet soon. Won't you join me? Let's embrace the ugly within us all.

Novelty Bags
Mar here. I don't know about you, but I prefer clothing that is quirky and makes me laugh. These coconut heads, which are from a variety of thrift stores, have been accumulating around my house for the past decade and have developed into a collection all on their own. Not very practical based on their small size, but who REALLY needs more than lipgloss, keys, and some change?
Also, while we're talking about bags with personality, I had to mention my alligator bag, which I found at the back of my closet yesterday. Green, with a white zipper mouth and four dangling legs, it's hard not laugh while reaching for your wallet. Again, not very practical seeing that the only way to get things in and out is through the mouth, but fun nonetheless. And if you dare to question this bag's credibility, check out the side, it reads "Genuine Alligator Bag." Haha.

Red Flag Design Turns Yellow
The amazing Vancouver based designers Red Flag Design, who have made a name for themselves creating accessories out of recycled sail cloth, have just stepped it up a notch. Introducing yellow versions of their famous white shoulder tote, they have me wanting one sooo bad. I've seen this version at Inform in Gastown, and the white ones at Eugene Choo on Main. So practical and unique.

Grace here! Sorry for the lack of blog posts, I've been super busy, that's why! But I'm here now to share with you guys my all time favorite FALL/WINTER show by John Galliano, who is my favorite designer of all time!
Most of you might have already seen this video, but for those of you who have not I'm sure you'll fall in love with it!
I love how he modernizes 1940's - 1950's fashion, which look beyond amazing. I also love the detail work on all the Victorian dresses. He really took it to another level, which is sooo JOHN!

We Love Dorks
Mar here again. So I am in love with dorky glasses right now and I know I'm not the only one. Found in almost any thrift store, they are so wearable and easily act as a continuation to your outfit. And the best part is if you don't have a prescription, there's no worries, simply pop out the lenses and wear the frames as is.

Hunter and The Hunted
Mar here. Not one to typically wear a lot of jewelry, I stumbled across this collection from Digby & Iona a few months ago and have been obsessed ever since. Depicting hunters, guns, and mounted heads of moose in every format from delicate necklaces to bulky statement making rings, this collection of jewelry suceeds in being both morbid and beautiful. (How perfect is that?)
So far I've seen only some of their rings and a necklace at The Block, and it doesn't look like Digby & Iona have an online store. So until these mounted creatures are made a little more accesible, they`ll have to be admired from afar.

Little Boy
Mar here. I went to Value Village today on the search for my Halloween wig (I'm being Cher by the way) and I ended up finding this shrunken denim little boy jacket. It has a few stains, but I love it. Also, as I was leaving, this giant black and white geometric pattern sweater with loose wing-sleeves caught my eye. It was pretty perfect, but I must save my money. Must MUST MUST.
On The Other Side of The Curtain
Here are our beauties again, showing off their super duper outfits! The denim jumpsuit is so Alysha, and is completed with a high-waisted drawstring belt. We wish we could pull this off, but until then we'll have to settle on living through her. Oh yeah, to make it even cooler, it says 'cotton blues' on the front.
Mother Trucker! We love shoes!
Here's a collection of awesome shoe photos. Feet courtesy of the wonderful gals at work. The yellow ones are like candy on your feet, and I bet your stinkers are wishing they had tastebuds now! Brown ones are pretty sweet too. Oh how we love 'the old man shoe.' Very reminiscent of my Papa, but he was cool before y'all.

The Attire is Here!
As two girls who have grown up surrounded by fashion and work with consignment clothing, it isn't a mystery why we've created The Attire. One of us, a designer in love with purple and dresses, the other, a vintage collector who is addicted to magazines. Together? Well who knows, but we hope we can entertain!
